My family loved this and is already begging for a repeat. I spread a very thin layer of cinnamon applesauce between the breadstuff layers and then sprinkled a lilliputian extra cinnamon on superlative. When you serve it, flip information technology over and yous accept a squeamish brown sugar/cinnamon topping! It's EASY and actually, actually good!
04/21/2012
I add thinly sliced apples to the chocolate-brown sugar butter mix for an extra treat its cracking!

This was a large disappointment.. I wish I could say something good virtually it, merely I cannot. Also, information technology doesn't gustatory modality like French Toast at all.

This was my first effort at a baked French toast, and it was YUMMY! As with most recipes, I scaled information technology down for my small family unit. I halved the recipe, added an actress egg and a little extra splash of milk, used whole grain bread (crusts on, cut into large cubes), and tossed the bread in the egg-milk mixture, rather than pouring it over. Information technology filled an 8X8 pan perfectly. I baked information technology at the aforementioned temperature for the same amount of time. simply because the bread was brown to start with, I judged the "doneness" by smell and touch, taking it out when it sprang back when I poked it. I specially like how information technology doesn't gustation really "eggy", as my French toast often does. Nosotros wound up eating smaller servings than if I had prepared "regular" French toast, the equivalent of just one slice of staff of life per serving. With a few brownish and serve sausages on the side, perfect! We'll have the last of it for brunch afterwards church this morning. Thanks for sharing. UPDATE: Fabricated a half batch of this final night with regular white bread, which I rarely buy, just it was on sale. The verdict: WAY better made with a nutty brownish staff of life, I guess because of the fiddling scrap of extra texture. It'due south withal a become-to recipe, just I recall the rest of the white breadstuff might be going to the birds...literally. UPDATE #2: I just fabricated this as a last minute idea, then it only saturday for nearly an 60 minutes before I baked information technology, and I honestly couldn't tell the divergence between a one 60 minutes remainder vs an overnight residue.

Oh my goodness! This is like eating dessert for breakfast! My family unit LOVED information technology! Actually, I made information technology for dinner, with some salary and scrambled eggs. :) Information technology tasted a lot like eating a cinnamon roll. VERY Sweetness and yummy. I used vii eggs and 2/3 loving cup of milk (since some others had said it was a trivial dry) and it was just right. I likewise added about a teaspoon of vanilla to the milk/egg mixture and sprinkled the top with cinnamon before pouring it over. I refrigerated it for a couple hours before baking and that worked fine! It was really as well sweet to add butter and syrup, merely I would similar to endeavor it with a fruit topping and some whipped cream. Next fourth dimension I might try spreading the second layer of bread with sweetened foam cheese and blueberry pie filling or chopped apples (between the bread layers) for a 'stuffed' french toast. Yummy!

I was looking for a quick and easy french toast recipe to make this morning and came across this 1. Thanks to a previous reviewer's comment, I did non let it sit overnight and but baked it as soon as I finished preparing it! I used french bread instead of regular staff of life and served information technology with a little warmed maple syrup! It turned out Peachy and nosotros all enjoyed it very much! Thank you!

Oh, my goodness. This is i of the most delicious broiled french toast recipes I've ever had. I kickoff made it for Christmas last year, and used ordinary, cheap sandwich bread with the crusts on and information technology was OK. But at present I purchase the good quality farmhouse bread and cut the crusts off. I add more than brownish sugar to the lesser of the dish, too and then when I cutting it and flip it over on the plate, it's buttery and sweet. Served with grits and breakfast meat this is i of our favorite meals. Oh, and I don't refrigerate over night either and information technology'southward still great. I will for this year's Christmas morning repast. Thanks!

The family unit loves this!!! I made this 3 Saturday nights in a row for Sun breakfast. I didn't read the instructions correctly the starting time time and I dipped each piece of bread in the milk/egg mixture (and forgot the common salt) and it turned out excellent then that is how I keep to make it. We at present put applesauce and cinnamon in betwixt each layer and some dark-brown saccharide and butter on the top as well as the lesser of the pan. No one even uses syrup......nosotros do sprinkle with powder sugar.

My husband and I both enjoyed this. I as well sliced an apple and placed information technology on the bottom of the pan. I had some leftover canned fruit and drained that and placed betwixt the layers of breadstuff. I even replaced 1/two of the chocolate-brown carbohydrate with Splenda dark-brown sugar. After baking and cooling information technology, I cut the pan into eight servings and individually froze them and we just pull one out of the the freezer at a fourth dimension and microwave it for breakfast. I await forrard to trying it with other fruit.

As my 4 twelvemonth onetime granddaughter Graci would say "Yummy-this is delish".The beginning time I made this was for a Sunday brunch-which my family was late for & had information technology cold late that afternoon. They ate it like finger food & absolutely loved information technology. The only thing I did differently was add one/4 cup saccharide & 1 TSP vanilla to the egg mixture. My baking time was a little longer but perhaps that was from not all ovens being alike. We took holiday a few days back & my family asked me to make it for breakfast - put it together the night before - put it in the oven next morning & wound up making it twice during our stay at the embankment. Yeah, they actually liked it. This is going to be on my menu for holiday breakfast for years to come. Thanks GINNY066 for a wonderful recipe. DianneP

I prepped it final night and made information technology this afternoon for my family, it was a huge success! I did it slightly different to make sure the cinnamon and brown saccharide was on both sides of all the toast but it was definitely delicious! I absolutely beloved this sight for homemade recipes! Cheers from my family unit that will savour this for years to come!
06/xiii/2014
Information technology was succulent & it'due south already gone. I added a little bit more brownish saccharide and butter because my family has a lot of sweetness tooths :)
12/07/2012
Married man loved information technology! Thinly sliced an apple tree on top of brown sugar, used slices of french breadstuff, and cooked an actress ii minutes. Information technology was easy, perfect and very good. Information technology is very sweet!
01/24/2013
I like this because it has less fattening ingredients than other recipes I saw, but still tastes wonderful!
04/23/2013
Made this for the first time for my 30yr former daughters bday! We all loved it. Added the cinnamon applesauce betwixt layers of bread, didn't have to employ any butter or syrup, succulent.
11/24/2016
The only two days of the yr I cook a large breakfast for my family are Thanksgiving 24-hour interval and Christmas morn. My kids always request this casserole. I add actress cinnamon and white chocolate chips and it tastes like a large cinnamon roll. I covered the goulash for the kickoff 15 minutes then that the tiptop didn't get too browned. I baked information technology uncovered for the remaining fifteen minutes.
11/11/2012
I thought this was delicious. I too added applesauce and cinnamon between the layers and too a sprinkle of cinnamon on elevation. I used thick bread so the top layer is more toasty than the bottom layer but I put butter and syrup on information technology and it was just fine. The applesauce added some other layer of flavour. Will make once again!
06/19/2016
I idea it was very good with the adaptations I made to recipe. I sprayed the pan with nonstick spray starting time to make sure cleanup was easy (which it was). The bread I had on hand was homemade sourdough, which worked well for the texture of this recipe. I mixed the butter, carbohydrate, and cinnamon together, and added two tsp of pure vanilla extract, and divided them between the bottom and the between the staff of life layers. I increased the milk to 3/4 loving cup. I added a topping of cinnamon and sugar lightly sprinkled across the summit. I did not wait overnight; I just let information technology residuum for ten minutes before blistering. I baked it at 375 for 40 minutes. After blistering, I inverted it onto the serving platter. The simply change I'd make to my method would be to put all of the butter/saccharide/cinnamon on the lesser instead of dividing it, so it would be even more of a syrupy crust. I had initially thought people would accept ane slice off at a time, just they stuck together well, so we all just cut our ain slices, instead of trying to brand it fit individual slices of breadstuff. Will definitely get in once more.
01/05/2013
What a yummy breakfast. It sounded then good this morning time I simply let it sit for about twenty minutes on the counter so put it in the oven.
03/21/2015
Splendid! I fabricated it verbal and it was a hit. Now i ill endeavor it with cinnamon and brown sugar split between top n bottom.
01/22/2013
We could eat this everyday, AWESOME!!!!!
04/05/2015
The bread was dry and the brown carbohydrate and butter did not plough to syrup. Had good season but the brown sugar was crystalized and the height piece of breadstuff was bone dry out.
09/07/2015
This french toast is so good and so easy. I likewise dipped my bread slices in the egg milk mixture which i added cinnamon and allspice to. Between the two layers of breadstuff I spread a tin of apple tree pie filling and shook a picayune cinnamon on acme of that. I also put some extra cinnamon on top subsequently poring the remainder of the egg mixture on. Remember to flip it over when serving..
03/14/2013
I really loved this. I added a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon to the egg mixture and I put some fresh blueberries in betwixt the two layers of bread. I call back next time, I might add i more egg to give a chip more than moisture. Information technology was a hit! I would classify it more of a cinnamon toast bake. :o)
04/10/2016
I have made "overnight French toast" earlier and by far this came out way better. I made pocket-size modifications based on previous reviews. I used thinly sliced challah bread (pre-sliced from supermarket baker) in a 9x 13 pan. I besides added the actress egg, added a splash half and half and a splash of vanilla creamer to the egg mixture with the 1/2 cup of milk. I figured a petty extra liquid would exist ok with the extra egg. I and then put fresh blueberries in betwixt the 2 layers of bread. I did permit it sit overnight and next am sprinkled a pinch of Brown sugar and cinnamon on height prior to baking. I would say information technology took nigh 35 min to bake but it was perfect, not soggy at all. I cut the bread slices in half, and flipped the half slices over into a platter (brown saccharide side up) drizzled a bit of warm syrup and some more fresh blueberries. It served a group of 10 ladies with some other brunch items. Received many compliments especially from a friend who makes these types of dishes all the time.
03/12/2013
I made this twice in the same week. The first time I took it to brunch at my cousins' house. All of the adults ate it but as it was. No syrup required. I agree with flipping the toast over on your plate. Information technology makes for a much more beautiful brandish/presentation. I had to add an extra egg and a fleck of milk before cooking every bit the corners of the bread were dry. I also had to melt information technology an extra ten minutes.
12/25/2013
Yum! We loved this! Perfect Christmas forenoon breakfast... easy to throw in the oven and no piece of work for Mom so I could be part of the festivities! Very sweetness so no syrup required.
06/08/2014
this recipe was Beyond simple. I threw in the apples like a couple people had suggested. It didn't even demand syrup!!! Other than that I made the recipe the exact fashion specified. Definitely amazing. I served it the morning of my blood brother's wedding ceremony when we were all running around trying to become ready. So EASY!
09/28/2014
Would definitely half the amt of brown saccharide Used 6 regular pieces of breadstuff and 6 heels (heels for summit layer) In the morning when i got it out of the fridge, the peak layer of staff of life was completely dry as was the top side of the bottom layer of bread. I added ii eggs and 1/4 up a milk and condom it over the bottom layer of breadstuff and the front and back of the meridian layer of breadstuff. Tasted smashing Very easy to make
03/27/2014
I added a layer of brown sugar and cinnamon between the 2 layers of staff of life and didn't allow information technology sit overnight baked right away information technology was delicious
01/07/2014
Loved it! I used thinly sliced French bread, cream instead of milk, and put it straight into the oven for xxx minutes. Delicious!
02/01/2015
I made this today while my hubby was at piece of work as a 'trial' and if it went well, I planned to re-make for breakfast on Sunday. It was great! I simply used six slices of bread instead of 12, and I used a loving cup of milk and it was just enough for my breadstuff. If I used any less than a cup information technology would have been much too dry for my taste, so be aware of that when you make it. I didn't take any brown sugar so I merely sprinkled white sugar over the butter. I was a tad shy with the cinnamon, but next time I will exist extra generous with it. I didn't brand this alee of time and simply baked it as soon as I was done prepping information technology and it turned out just fine. I imagine if it was left to refrigerate overnight the flavours would have been stronger, but this turned out smashing. Next time I program to add some peaches and apples to the butter, sugar & cinnamon and in between bread layers.
02/04/2015
Cleaning out the frig I found old staff of life, and wheat hamburger buns. Decided to use these in the casserole. I made sure that all the bread got coated with the egg mixture and baked it. Nosotros loved it . If good with old breadstuff, it must exist awesome with fresh French or Italian staff of life. Volition get in information technology again.
01/31/2015
was perfect with 2 extra eggs, about 2 tbsp extra milk, 2 tsp vanilla extract, and a bit of a heavy mitt on the cinnamon and sugar. (about a cup of saccharide instead of 3/4ths and peradventure 4 tbs cinnamon?) Also, fee complimentary to shred extra breadstuff to fill gaps in the dish! I fabricated the cinnamon carbohydrate mix thin and put information technology between BOTH layers. Served upside downwards. Custardy and crispy. Submitted 3 pics
02/25/2015
This was succulent! My married man and kids all loved information technology! I was only able to let it soak for a couple hours, merely that didn't seem to be a problem. The only consequence was that the bread didn't quite fit in the pan, so some pieces did non get soaked and concluded upward crusty. I liked the crusty parts, but my kids did non. I did apply a 13x9 similar the recipe said, then I'k not sure how they fit 12 pieces like the picture show shows. Though not the virtually nutritious, this was a easy meal to put together with ingredients I had on hand. A winner for this household!
01/07/2014
Very good. Cook sausage or salary in oven at the same time for easy breakfast.
12/14/2014
Don't plan to make again. Bread was very soggy which I don't similar. Didn't seem to me to have much flavour. I added some applesauce in bottom of pan as I seen in other reviews, and likewise added a impact of vanilla to milk mixture simply didn't like how information technology turned out.
03/09/2016
I made this exactly equally the recipe stated. It was a large thumbs up from the family. No syrup needed. I too tried putting cinnamon applesauce in between 2 of them. They liked it ameliorate without the applesauce. Will brand this again.
08/30/2014
Huge hit with my family, I added a bit more cinnamon and brine saccharide and mixed it in with the melted butter in the bottom of the dish. I as well added 3/4 loving cup milk instead of 1/two loving cup.
12/25/2016
Nosotros use this every Christmas brunch. We have made some modest adjustments when putting it together. Instead of all the melted butter and chocolate-brown sugar mix on the bottom, we use a little more than half on the lesser, and brush the middle and elevation layers with the butter and sprinkle remaining brownish sugar, than pour the eggs over. I too accept one boosted whipped egg and brush all the sides and corners of the top layer of staff of life.
02/01/2015
My kids loved this. I added 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the egg mix and used a French baguette cut into 3/iv" slices for the bread.
01/08/2017
ginny cheers for this recipe. i have made this several times, in one case as written and then the last couple of times i add an extra egg and milk plus a dash of vanilla. my grandaughter has been requesting that i go far every time she is hither.
12/21/2013
Dandy recipe!! I put sliced apples betwixt the bread layers and used Splenda brown sugar instead of regular chocolate-brown saccharide. Also used an extra egg and a bit more milk like other people had. Definitely volition make again!!!
02/nineteen/2015
Love this, it so easy!!! Thank yous
05/x/2015
This is sooooo yummy! Not sure what the i reviewer was talking about when they said it was a disappointment. Information technology tasted exactly like the French toast I would make when I pan fry mine. I did add 1 tsp of vanilla to the eggs mixture and in that location was so much brownish sugar and cinnamon I sprinkled some on the butter some on top of the first layer of bread and some on top of the second layer of bread. I would definitely make this again since it is easier than standing in forepart of a hot stove top.
02/05/2017
I added a sprinkle of nutmeg, but otherwise followed the recipe. While the top looks non washed, when you flip information technology over on the plate, it looks succulent. It tastes even better. When I broiled it I did get out information technology covered with aluminum foil for the get-go 25 minutes and then baked it another x-15 without the foil. Will definitely make this once again!!
01/06/2020
Added dusting of confectioners sugar. Butter/sugar base made information technology very dark simply the sugar dusting worked and the gustation was excellent. Very easy to make alee
07/18/2013
I fabricated this for a co-workers birthday and shared with several people. They all liked information technology. I followed the advice from others and added extra milk and eggs. I besides sprinkled cinnamon and chocolate-brown sugar on the top. Next fourth dimension i want to add cream cheese between the layers. I volition brand this once more.
12/21/2017
Yummy! I cut the recipe in one-half, only did 1 layer of breadstuff (6 slices) added a tsp of vanilla, and simply let it sit in refrigerator for 30 minutes, and information technology turned out awesome! I'thou going to endeavour it overnight for Christmas breakfast!
12/26/2013
A great brand ahead dish! Added some corn syrup to the sugar mixture and topped the mixture with sliced apples and pears. Large hit with the family unit, definitely a keeper.
01/08/2020
Fabricated 2 batches for having my family over for breakfast, one batch with the brown carbohydrate and one without for a more savory french toast. Both turned out well and were a big hit! I added an extra 2 eggs and 1/4c milk to each recipe because with the 6 eggs and 1/2c some of the breadstuff was all the same a bit dry, but 8 eggs and 3/4c for each batch was perfect! I think the size and density of your bread probably makes a difference, I used bigger and denser bread (Nature's Ain Perfectly Crafted Thick Sliced White Staff of life is what I used) than a lot of sandwich breadstuff. The ane without brown saccharide was a tiny fleck heavy on butter, information technology was nevertheless good and was all the same eaten and enjoyed, the butter season was only a bit stiff. Side by side time I make it without brown saccharide I'll probably do 3/iv a stick of butter instead of a whole stick.
01/21/2016
I made this for my family for Christmas morning breakfast. It was a big hitting! Notwithstanding, I had to cook information technology longer than suggested to make certain the eggs were cooked. I also modified it slightly equally other reviewers had suggested and I spread a sparse layer of cinnamon absurdity between the bread layers and and so sprinkled a footling actress cinnamon on top. I also dipped each piece of bread in the egg mixture (like regular french toast) and so poured the remaining egg mixture on. I think next time I will use chunks of bread considering I think it would fit into the pan amend. Overall, this was a big hit!
12/25/2014
Yum! This will be my new Christmas breakfast goulash from now on! Instead of two layers of bread I used a single layer (6 slices) of Texas Toast. Wasn't sure whether to bake uncovered, just i had used foil to cover information technology in the fridge and so I baked it for 30 minutes with the foil on. While my husband and I ate the starting time round I put this dorsum in the over with no roofing. It was good both ways.
12/25/2019
My family loves it! I do add half a teaspoon of vanilla merely other than that the dish is delish.
04/01/2015
This was delicious! Followed recipe merely I did dip the bristles in the egg mixture and poured the concluding tiny bit over the top. All of the brown sugar and butter soaked into the bottom piece which was delish. The two pieces of bread fused together. I tried it without syrup, which was good but ended upwards using a little syrup , fabricated it more like French toast.
11/27/2016
Our family loved this for a family unit brunch we had.
12/17/2016
New favorite for my family
xi/07/2015
Thus turned out fantastic. Lucky affair too, because I fabricated information technology for a potluck and with new recipes, that doesn't alway work out! I doubled it and made a small pan for home and one to have to work. I did change a little flake: used heavy foam instead of milk and added some vanilla to the custard (like I ever practice for regular French toast). I would do exactly the same again. The chocolate-brown carbohydrate and butter at the bottom make information technology sugariness enough then you don't need syrup at all. my girl begged me to make this Christmas morning. Winner! And it was so quick and easy. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
12/30/2012
This didn't seem to have enough liquid to keep the whole dish moist. Had to cook longer than should accept to become the top browned.
02/24/2015
I was not able to prepare the nighttime earlier, but I still think they came out good. I added some vanilla extract and nutmeg and more cinnamon to the recipe. I used regular wheat bread simply definitely think french breadstuff or texas toast may be more moist which is my preference. In addition to the melted butter, I coated flat roaster pans with non stick spray. Drizzled the sugar, salt and cinnamon on the pan then placed coated bread on top, and then drizzled the sugar and cinnamon again. I then poured the egg mixture over again over the bread. Halfway through baking I turned them over. I used a metal spatula turned at a precipitous angle to turn them so the bread sticking was not an option. Thanks.
11/03/2014
I used unsalted butter (so I sprinkled kosher common salt on acme), organic saccharide, white bread, kokosnoot milk, and added some caramel drizzle and apple tree chunks on top and mine turned out actually great. I want to add together pecans to the butter-saccharide mix next fourth dimension. Yes, there will definitely be a adjacent fourth dimension! My boyfriend said, "Add together this ane to the repeat list!" Between the two of us nosotros gobbled up half the pan, and and so I was kind of worried leftovers wouldn't exist so great. But I only covered the pan and stuck information technology in the refrigerator and the microwave-reheated leftovers this morning were just fine, really just about as good! I'm loving information technology. Information technology might exist proficient to mention that mine took about an hour to cook! I did put information technology directly from fridge into a 350-degree oven, still covered, and then maybe it took several minutes to warm itself upwards and finally showtime the cooking process. Afterward one-half an hour I took the foil cover off. As soon as the butter-saccharide mixture started bubbles up the sides, I took information technology out and permit it cool a fleck and it was pretty perfect. The sugary chaff on the lesser and the bread soaking in that butter to get dumbo and creamy--whew! Yum. I usually don't intendance a whole lot for regular French toast because of how soggy information technology can become, merely this was truly enjoyable (merely peradventure information technology helped that I cooked it so long too) so much that I call up I'll be craving information technology regularly. Hooray for successful experiments!
01/09/2015
This was really skilful. I made it with Texas Toast instead of 2 layers of bread and added vanilla and one more egg. Will make this i again.
06/01/2016
I made this in the morn, then no sitting overnight, but I used thin sliced bread. I used only about 3/iv of a stick of butter, I drizzled melted butter and added a little brownish sugar and cinnamon betwixt layers of staff of life, and a little more brown sugar and cinnamon on pinnacle. I added a footling vanilla and maple excerpt to the egg/milk mix. Baked for forty min, so turned over and baked for some other 10-15 min. (We don't like soggy French toast)
12/08/2015
Because, I am allergic to all milk products, I had to use coconut oil and coconut milk. I added some caramel syrup that my dad gave me, too, instead of using maple syrup later on it's done. And, I merely found this recipe this morning, so there was no overnight soaking as preparation. I used more than eggs and milk and allow it soak nigh 30 minutes. Probably wouldn't need more if I had read the recipe last night. Turned out very nice. So much easier than making information technology a few pieces at a time in a skillet. I have fabricated oven French toast earlier, just on a baking canvass, but, this is a larger and more satisfying yield.
12/23/2018
Absolute love it, but I but add my own twist. Between two layers of bread, I add chocolate chips and sliced bananas. Gustatory modality to dye for!!! I also desire to add, I didn't take time to do it overnight, I cooked it correct away!
03/01/2015
Just finished this! Fabricated a half batch and it was good enough to try once again. I added a splash of vanilla and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice over the cinnamon.....otherwise made equally directed. The next time, equally per others, I will add a flake more milk and an actress egg, equally the egg/milk mixture was somewhat scant. Flavor was very expert though. Applesauce sounds like a great addition!
01/xvi/2014
Delicious! I had xiv slices of bread and so I used a bigger pan. I used the aforementioned corporeality of butter, cinnamon and sugar though, and it was sweet enough. Put in an extra egg and used a whole cup of milk, and ane tsp vanilla. Sprinkled the top with cinnamon. Baked within one hour of putting information technology together, it was fine without waiting overnight. When serving, flip information technology over onto your plate. It tastes like cinnamon rolls!
11/08/2015
Yum! I made a reduced size of recipe this weekend. for the 2 of usa. This freezes well, so now nosotros have some other French toast breakfast when we want it. Instead of 12 slices of bread, I used 8 and an eight x 8 stoneware pan. I used four eggs, 1/four milk but kept the butter, sugar, cinnamon amounts the same. (By and large because I forgot to reduce the amount of butter until after it was in the pan.) I added plain no added sugar absurdity sprinkled with a little cinnamon betwixt the two layers. I besides used cinnamon bread instead of plain. I recall that side by side time I will reduce the sugar and butter (forth with my 8 slices of bread) and maybe put sliced bananas betwixt the layers. Mmmmmm...
12/22/2013
Yes. Ive used this recipe and love it.
12/xxx/2018
Delicious every bit is, yet I did "tweak" it. Starting time I used Texas Toast Bread (I trimmed off the crust and then it would look pretty) I melted 1 stick of butter, and so added one cup of low-cal brown sugar. I poured that mixture into a 9X13 pan. In some other bowl I mixed 4 eggs, 1 cup of whole milk, ane tsp. Vanilla. I layered the staff of life on summit of mixture, poured half of the egg mixture, I so made some other layer calculation the other one-half of egg mixture. Covered and placed in fridge overnight. In the morn I placed it covered in the oven 350° for 30 mins, removed the cover and baked for an additional xx mins untill the top was light brown. Cool and sprinkled with powdered saccharide. Theres no need for syrup as the butter/brownish sugar is sweet plenty. Just love!
12/25/2019
Didn't alter anything. It turned out fabulous, the whole family unit loved it!
12/25/2015
made it using Ciabatta breadstuff slices and added vanilla. Cooked it nearly 45 mins. 30 covered in silver foil and 15 to brand the sides crusty! YUM! Merry Christmas
11/29/2015
I made it with French breadstuff sliced and used vii large eggs. I wet the top layer of staff of life in the egg mixture before placing in pan. Flavour was bang-up, everyone at the family brunch idea so, well-nigh of it was moist enough to not need maple syrup. Next time I make information technology I will use 7-8 eggs and a cup of milk. I will cutting the bread into chunks and add another layer of butter and brown sugar to the pinnacle.
09/21/2013
Amazing! I dear the night prep and quick bake. My daughter loves smelling this cooking for brunch. Her friends love information technology, too.
12/27/2014
Smelled awesome, merely the superlative was a chip over done and the heart not and then much. I'll try it again because in spite of this, the taste was still ok. I think if the bread was cubed it would have made a huge difference.
04/12/2017
I added extra cinnamon because I dearest information technology! Everything else stayed the aforementioned and it was wonderful! I will brand this once again and again!
09/23/2016
Made this exactly as written (scaled down to family size) This was delicious! No need IMHO for syrup just gobs of butter. My very picky and hater of sweet stuff husband had two helpings. I will definitely make this again.
12/26/2014
added information technology to our Christmas breakfast and it was a big hit for everyone.2d helpings all around. I used a French Brioche, cutting about 3/4 inch thick, added 2 eggs, one/2 cup heavy cream and 1 tsp vanilla, then sprinkled elevation with cinnamon virtually halfway through baking. A real striking.

My son doesn't often comment virtually food I cook for him, merely when I served this for Christmas breakfast his jaw dropped. This volition be a staple for futurity special breakfasts. No complaints near the flavors, though side by side time I would change the technique. Instead of adding butter then brown sugar, I think I will mix the two ahead of time and so the sugar is more evenly distributed in the pan. Then I will likely dip the bread in the saccharide on both sides, again to fifty-fifty things out. I opted to do the prep simply xxx minutes before popping it in the oven only I'yard sure the overnight method helps everything soak into the bread nicely. This fabricated for a good brunch detail!

This was my first time making baked french toast and it was a slap-up success. My modifications were as follows: Let the butter to melt in the oven during the preheat time. I sliced the bread into strips. I added the cinnamon to the egg mixture and softened cream cheese cutting into cubes to the saturated staff of life. I did not allow to sit overnight. I baked it covered for 20 minutes. I poured mixed berries over the top and cooked uncovered for the concluding 10 minutes. This gave it a stuffed flavor without all the work. My family loved information technology!

I fabricated this for a Girl's Brunch. I did add more cinnamon but that was my only tweak, besides non soaking it overnight. It was a large striking. Every seize with teeth was gone. It is a fleck sweetness but that's what you want from French Toast.

VERY sweet. The brown sugar gets a bit crunchy at the edges baby we added some butter between the slices to brand it a little more soft while eating.

I have made this several times and have been asked for the recipe by someone each time. The simply thing I do differently is utilise Bakery French Bread (cut into cubes) and add 1 cup or more of Half and Half instead of milk. Succulent and has become a staple recipe when I have company.

I made this twice - once for Thanksgiving breakfast and the other for Blackness Friday breakfast. the family unit LOVED it! My nieces said it tasted similar a cinnamon roll. I used Canyon Bakehouse cinnamon raisin breadstuff and it went perfectly with the recipe.

Firstly, my kids loved this. My married man and I though found it to sweet for a breakfast repast. It's a hybrid betwixt French toast and a cinnamon role, leaning more than towards the cinnamon role. I used a French loaf for the bread which was succulent. I will make this again with only a minor tweak. Going to half the butter and sugar. I may besides try adding a fruit preserve adjacent time (in which case you'd need very fiddling butter and sugar at the lesser). I'm also throwing around the idea in layering cooked bacon in the center. If I endeavour it I'll update the review and let you know how it went.

I cut off almost of the lesser crust of French bread and tore into pieces. I didn't add together cinnamon to butter/brown sugar mixture, I put it in the egg and milk. I used half and one-half since I didn't have milk. This was the best French toast e'er, the butter/brown sugar came up thru the bread and also had a caramely lesser. I'm making information technology again, this time for Easter brunch.

This recipe really didn't turn out for me. I followed the recipe and unfortunately afterward refrigerating it overnight and so cooking it, the lesser portion was completely soggy and the top was a bit too dry. It just really didn't work. I won't exist making this once again.

Big hit and easy to prepare for Mother'south Twenty-four hours! I used some country french bread from Costco and only a teaspoon of cinnamon (personal preference). Permit sit for 3 hrs before baking. I left everything else the aforementioned. It was delicious. I removed the bread from the 13 Ten nine, flipped information technology over (butter/carbohydrate or chocolate-brown side up) onto a serving plate. The pieces that were not in the butter/sugar mixture needed a lilliputian actress maple syrup per some peoples request. Served with some maple sausage links I cooked in the oven at the same time I cooked the french toast. Besides served with some cut upwards peaches and strawberries on the side.

This was my first attempt at making Baked French Toast / French Toast Casserole and it was absolutely heavenly! I used slices of cinnamon / raisin bread - and added a niggling actress cinnamon to the brown sugar, butter mixture. The just other change I fabricated was to tear the slices into large chunks to brand it easier to spoon out servings. YUM!
